The beauty industry is full of a lot of things that are overrated.
Just because the packaging is really pretty and claims to be nontoxic, doesn’t mean that it actually is. We as the consumer have to be even more aware and reading our labels to see if the product is actually clean. A great resource is the ewg.org website where you can scan barcodes and it will pull up the level of nontoxic to toxic.
just because it is a very expensive product does not mean that it is high-quality. I know companies who use bad for the consumer ingredients and market their product prices way up, just because they are namebrand and known. The $200 wrinkle cream probably won’t fix all of the issues.
Lip fillers study after study has shown that lip filler has either spread to another part of the body or has not broken down and is still in the body years later. That right there makes it a hard pass for me.
Cheap make up is just that, cheap. The cosmetic make up industry fills their products with very cheap ingredients in order to mass produce products. I stay far away from big box store make up and I really like brands like: @crunchicollection @honest_beauty
Just because a product works, doesn’t mean that we should use it. I am not daft, I understand that conventional products really do work for their intended purposes. But so many lawsuits have been coming out the last couple of years against these big companies that do not care at all about the consumer.
